She is loving life in her foster home. She has doggy friends, loves to chew bones, thinks snuggling on the couch is amazing, and loves having playdates with kids. What Punky is missing is a family to call her own. This awesome girl has been through so much, I think its time she finally knows what it’s like to have her very own family to love her. Don’t you?

Punky came into PPBR back on July 30 2012. She was rescued off a reserve during a spay/neuter clinic. Punky had the worst case of Demodex mange we had ever seen. She was in so much pain, had very little hair, was full of infection, and was starved. These are the first two pictures we took of her.

After seeing our vet and getting on some medication, Punky slowly started to look better. She still had a long road ahead of her though. Finally she was in from the cold, had regular meals, and a foster family to love her!

Over a few months Punky continued to show improvement and was obviously much happier.

Now, almost 8 months after she was rescued, Punky is looking and feeling almost 100%. She is the sweetest little girl, that loves to be around people. She is very respectful and just wants to bed to lay on. Punky even made some new friends!

She was adopted back in May 2012, but when her momma moved to Ontario to help a sick family member she couldn’t go along. Lacey has been back since August and has had a few different homes interested in her, but they always seem to back out at the last minute. Lacey is starting to think there is something wrong with her. :(

Lacey is great with other dogs, but isn’t a fan of the small ones or cats. They are way too much fun to chase!!

Punky is approx. 3 years old and was found during a spay/neuter clinic in Hobbema. Punky has the worst case of demodex mange and infection we’ve seen. She’s had numous litters of puppies and was left to fend for herself. This is her first official intake picture taken on July 30th.

Punky visited the vet on August 3rd and of course everyone fell in love with her! Here are her first offical ‘before’ pictures.

 

Punky has been so lovable and awesome during her treatments, baths, and everything we’ve had to put her through. She never stops wiggling and wagging. Punky had to wear an adorable pink shirt for a week so help stop her from making her back worse, poor girl was SO itchy.

After many weeks of snuggles, regular food, and of course medication, Punk is starting to look and feel so much better! She has new hair growth and the most adorable little white patch between her eyes. Punky is ready for her new family. She is still recovering but there is no better place to be when you are getting better other than home! Punky is good with other dogs, although she does not like sharing her cookies and food with them, who can blame her? She loves all people, wants to please, and will do pretty much anything for a cookie! Punky is great in her crate and is 90% house trained. She is a pro snuggler and cannot wait to meet you!!
